Experience a delicacy available nowhere else in Oklahoma! These gourmet mushrooms are grown on wood chips and organic rye. I do not add synthetic inputs to the substrate or spray synthetic pesticides on the mushrooms. They are one of the fastest growing mushrooms, so your harvest will be available in about a month! They also have a short shelf-life so we will need to make arrangements to get your mushrooms to you on the days they are harvested. You can expect two or three harvests totaling about 1 to 2 pounds of fresh mushrooms.

Project FAQ

How do I prepare mushrooms to cook?
Use a cloth to wipe off any wood particles. Do not wash the mushrooms because they soak up water like a sponge. You can add them to soups or sauces after you sauté them in oil.

How do I cook Pink Oyster Mushrooms?
You need to cook these mushrooms before eating them. The easiest way is to sauté them in oil and then add them to any dish you would add other types of mushrooms to. You can also preserve them by dehydrating, canning, or freezing them.

How will I get my mushrooms?
I will contact you shortly after your purchase and make arrangements to either deliver them to you or have you pick them up. I do not own a car so I can only deliver to central Norman, Oklahoma. If you are interested in having me dehydrate and mail them to you, I can do that for an additional cost. These are too delicate to mail fresh.

How long do Pink Oyster Mushrooms last?
These have the shortest shelf life of all of the oyster mushrooms. They need to be used within 3 days of harvest. Please store them in a paper bag in the main area of the refrigerator, not a drawer. Do not put them in a sealed container or they will get slimy quickly. Consider dehydrating or sautéing them to use for later as soon as you get them.

How many shares can I purchase?
You can purchase as many shares as I have available. If you have a restaurant, catering service, or grocery store, I am happy to keep you in supply!
